Positions

Emergency Management Director-

  • Develop policies and procedures for the county
  • Develop budgets for both Emergency Management and E-911 Departments
  • Supervise the conduct of employees
  • Supervise the performance of contracts
  • Regulate purchases of the department supplies and material
  • Perform all other duties delegated by the governing authority
  • Establish local ordinances pertaining to emergency response

Planning Chief

  • Responsible for maintaining and developing emergency plans for the department
  • Responsible for setting up exercises that test the emergency operations plans
  • Responsible for implementing corrective action updates to plans

Volunteer Service Chief

  • Responsible for supervising CERT and Red Cross Volunteers.
  • Conduct Training
  • Maintain Updated Training Records
  • Conduct monthly meetings

COAD

  • A Community Organization Active in Disaster (COAD) is an organization, within the county community, which is composed of representatives from public, private not-for-profit agencies. COAD enhances the community’s ability to mitigate, prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from disaster, thus ensuring that human needs inherent in a disaster situation are evaluated and addressed.

Communications Chief

  • Responsible for overseeing Communication Supervisors
  • Responsible for ensuring training is up-to-date with those having access to NCIC
  • Responsible for ensuring that all state and federal laws are upheld for information entered into NCIC
  • Responsible for certifying those with NCIC clearance

Training and Exercise Coordinator

  • Responsible for developing exercises for the county
  • Develop Training program for staff
  • Maintain training records

Logistics Chief

  • Responsible for ordering resources for the county EOC
  • Responsible for maintain supplies that are on hand
  • Responsible for keeping track of resources

Operation Chief

  • Responsible for day-to-day operation in the department
  • Liaison between ICP and EOC during an emergency

Administrative Assistant

  • Responsible for providing assistance to all department personnel
  • Set up meetings at the discretion of the Director
  • Facilitate Meeting Space

Administration/Finance Chief

  • Responsible for maintaining all bills for the EOC
  • Responsible for tracking hours of personnel during an emergency
  • Responsible for ensuring that proper procurement practices are undergone

E-911

  • Responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls from the public
  • Responsible for determining and dispatching the proper emergency personnel and apparatus needed to properly respond to a call for service
  • Responsible for upholding the laws for proper maintenance of criminal files
  • Back-up personnel used for emergency management activities during a disaster

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

  • Volunteer Organization
  • Responsible for providing assistance to citizens during a disaster until professional help arrives
  • Responsible for providing support to the emergency management division in setting up services for citizens
  • Responsible for keeping up with training as it applies to emergency management
